I'll post this for Andy (cn-md)
We went looking at a 91 Z32 manual TT at Fast Fours n Turbos today. First off we were told the car is a Maroon 2 seater, turned out to be a bright red LWB. I didn't drive the Z but according to Andy it drove well, gear changes are smooth, interior and exterior were in relative good condition and the car looked pretty well taken care of....until we decided to find out more. Eager to know if the car was a factory manual or converted, we lifted the bonnet....
The VIR plate said:
Trans axle: RE4R01A RC41
Type: RGZ32
Model: KRGZ32JAMGH
Engine: VG30(DE)
from that we concluded that at least the chassis, rolled out of the factory as a NA
Then a google search on "RE4R01A" showed up with automatic gearboxes.
Just to make sure, I lifted my bonnet to discover my trans axle code too was "RE4R01A" and my Z is an auto. My engine was a "VG30(DETT)" showing that factory TT's have "TT" on the code.
So we asked the owner, why the engine obviously being a TT, had a NA code? And what about the gearbox, is it a TT manual conversion or a NA conversion. The owner denied both, saying it's "all factory, genuine, no aftermarket." So I pointed out the obvious similarities and differences with my Z....to our suprise he said "this is a 91, thats 89, new shape, lots of differences"
And he was asking $10,995.... |

| I'm not quite sure what was up with it, but the owner I think just sold it to Fast 4s or something, it's a bit different to the cars they have on the lot, as it's not owned by them. |

| From what we can determine it was converted from NA auto to TT manual, we could be wrong. However I doubt cert. is a major problem, going through LVV isn't all that hard is it? |

lvv cert can be hard to obtain if it hasent been done through the right channels or could be a nuber of reasons why it has a incorrect vin plate,
one thing being the plates were dead on the car, so did the the swaper roo with a car that had live plates just to save on the $400 re rego cost
or it could be a genuine odd ball car nissan have been known to do this, |
