Alter Bridge - Blackbird
Written by Miles about a close friend who was suffering a terminal illness, who unfortunately died while Ab were recording the track in the studio.
Miles will be with Slash in the http://www.gtaranaki.co.nz/line-up.htm
Slash will be joined by Alter Bridge vocalist Myles Kennedy, bassist Todd Kerns (Sin City Sinners, Static in Stereo, Age of Electric), rhythm guitarist Bobby Schneck (Weezer, Green Day) and drummer Brent Fitz (Alice Cooper, Vince Neil).

Alter Bridge - Blackbird
The willow it weeps today
A breeze from the distance is calling your name
Unfurl your black wings and wait
Across the horizon it's coming to sweep you away
It's coming to sweep you away
[Chorus:]
Let the wind carry you home
Blackbird fly away
May you never be broken again
The fragile cannot endure
The wrecked and the jaded a place so impure
The static of this cruel world
Cause some birds to fly long before they've seen their day
Long before they've seen their day
[Chorus:]
Let the wind carry you home
Blackbird fly away
May you never be broken again
Beyond the suffering you've known
I hope you find your way
May you never be broken again
Ascend may you find no resistance
Know that you made such a difference
All you leave behind will live to the end
The cycle of suffering goes on
But memories of you stay strong
Someday I too will fly and find you again
[Chorus:]
Let the wind carry you home
Blackbird fly away
May you never be broken again
Beyond the suffering you've known
I hope you find your way
May you never be broken again
May you never be broken again
> Dedicated to those who we have lost .... and those who are going through tough times right now with friends and family.

Possibly the best electric blues player other than BB King maybe. I have a couple of SRV dvd's .... love the way he used to take his cigarette and place it in the end of the guitar while he played and playing the giutar behind his back
Hey guys add to this - I'd like to see what others are into with music. _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

| Sorry buddy have to disagree with you on that one. While Jimmy was a competent guitarist himself, he even inspired Stevie to start playing guitar. He knew and admitted many times that Stevie had surpassed his skills many many years ago. |

Going to bust out something a bit different here now!
I'm so into Cypress Hill's new album Rise Up right now, it's ridiculously good! I hate most modern rap / so called hip-hop that's around these days, so it's good to hear some of the old skool show they still got it goin' on. Tom Morello appearing on a few tracks doesn't do any harm either Even Cheech & Chong make a few appearances on the album
Here's a Youtube link to the title track Rise Up feat. Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine & Audioslave.

| That Cypress Hill vid is AWESOME! I love their old stuff mainly but that song is pretty sweet. "How I could just kill a man" is my fav of theirs, Rage actually use to cover that song live and their is a recording on youtube when B.Real and Sen Dog came onstage and sung with them. epic! |
